MeSH Description
Ovoid body resting on the CRIBRIFORM PLATE of the ethmoid bone where the OLFACTORY NERVE terminates. The olfactory bulb contains several types of nerve cells including the mitral cells, on whose DENDRITES the olfactory nerve synapses, forming the olfactory glomeruli. The accessory olfactory bulb, which receives the projection from the VOMERONASAL ORGAN via the vomeronasal nerve, is also included here.

Lysates from 20-week old wild type hippocampus and olfactory bulb were sonicated, and NFIA-DNA complexes were purified with antibody in triplicates. NFIA-DNA complexes were isolated from siRNA-NFIB and siRNA-scramble olfactory bulb in duplicate. DNA libraries were constructed from 5-10ng of chromatin immunoprecipitated DNA using the TruSeq ChIP library preparation kit (Cat# IP-202-1012) following the manufactures instructions. Libraries were validated on a fragment analyzer to verify successful gel extraction.
